Smoke appearing at the doors does not by itself confirm that replacing the rope is sufficient. The cause may relate to the closure, handling method, or the entire flue system. Stop using the appliance until the problem is clarified; repair material is selected only for the identified location.
Start with the appliance cold
Check the model requirements and the scope of necessary inspection. Record when the symptom appeared and compare it with the previous operation of the stove. Inspecting the door does not replace the assessment of the flue, airflow, and exhaust conditions.
Examine the groove, the gasket run, the hinges, and the lock. Black Vitcas stove rope has specific formats intended for compatible seals. Compare the diameter with the door documentation, as the old section may be flattened and deformed.
Differentiate the frame from the glazing
Flat glass fibre tape has different applications than round rope. Determine the material intended for the glass and the method of installation. Do not replace both components with a single type solely for convenience of purchase.
Check whether the frame and mechanism remain in the required position. A thicker gasket is not a universal adjustment for compression. The door should operate according to the instructions, without additional forcing of the handle or accidental change of settings.
Complete the repair with a full inspection
If replacement is required, rope adhesive should be selected according to compatible material and substrate. Prepare the groove and maintain the required bonding. Plan the reuse of the device after performing the necessary work and inspecting the entire system.
Record the identified cause and the parts actually replaced. Simply the absence of visible smoke during a short test does not confirm all operating conditions. At the next inspection, the history of the symptom will be more useful than an unidentified new section of gasket.
